This mapping option lets you

upload and display an existing gpx file
create a new route by clicking on screen
edit the route
simplify the number of points defining the route
reverse the direction of the route
display the route profile and elevations of points along the route
save the route as a gpx file
print your route with a chosen map background

Help on using the option can be obtained by clicking the ? button on the left of the map. You'll also find it useful to read Basic Mapping Controls on the right of the help screen.

Each map allows OS mapping to be seen, when you are zoomed in, using the top right layers button.
Maps can be displayed full screen using the button on the left below + -.
